Warehouse Assistant (Frozen Food Storage)

About the role

PolarFoods Coldchain Pte Ltd is a mid-sized cold storage and distribution company servicing hotels, central kitchens, supermarkets and hawker-style food suppliers across Singapore. Our Jurong facility handles a mix of frozen seafood, meats and prepared products that require strict temperature control and traceability.

The Warehouse Assistant will join a small team in a fast-paced coldstore environment. Core responsibilities include receiving inbound shipments, picking and packing customer orders, recording temperature logs and assisting with loading/unloading. You will work with manual pallet jacks, basic warehouse management systems (WMS) and follow HACCP-aligned procedures.

This role is ideal for candidates who are physically fit, comfortable working in cold conditions (-18°C to 0°C), and who take pride in accuracy and food safety. We offer on-the-job training, stable rostered shifts and opportunities to learn inventory control and coldchain handling best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect inbound frozen deliveries; verify delivery documents and product conditions
• Pick and pack orders accurately according to pick lists and customer specifications
• Operate manual pallet jacks and stack pallets safely within coldstore racking
• Monitor and record temperature checkpoints for storage and shipments (temperature logs)
• Label and rotate stock using FIFO; ensure traceability and batch identification
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks during handover to drivers
• Perform basic cleaning and housekeeping in coldroom areas to meet food-safety standards
• Support cycle counts and regular inventory checks; report discrepancies to supervisor
• Follow PPE and coldstore safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a warehouse, logistics or coldstore environment
• Comfortable working in cold environments (-18°C to 0°C) and wearing required PPE
• Physically fit: able to lift 20–25kg regularly and stand for extended periods
• Basic literacy in English for reading labels, checklists and log sheets
• Willingness to work rostered shifts including early mornings, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility for food safety
• Eligible to work in Singapore
