About the role

Don Signature Crab is an established Singapore seafood brand known for casual, family-friendly crab and seafood concepts across multiple outlets and a central kitchen. We are expanding our outlet portfolio and seeking a Kitchen Planner / Designer to support new openings, refits and workflow optimisation across venues.

The role combines technical design, vendor sourcing and project coordination. You will produce kitchen layouts and equipment schedules, work with architects and M&E contractors, ensure compliance with NEA and SCDF requirements, and manage site fit-out timelines. You'll collaborate closely with head chefs and operations to balance culinary workflow, hygiene and cost efficiency.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both drawing and boots-on-the-ground coordination. If you have proven F&B kitchen design experience, strong AutoCAD/Revit skills and a practical understanding of commercial kitchen equipment and regulations, you will find career growth and ongoing project variety within our group.

About Don Signature Crab

Don Signature Crab operates a portfolio of crab and seafood restaurants and a central kitchen in Singapore. We combine approachable seafood dining with operational systems that support multiple outlets. The group invests in well-planned kitchens and standardised equipment to keep food quality consistent while scaling.

What you can expect

  • Established local seafood brand with multiple outlets and central kitchen.
  • Active expansion pipeline — several new fit-outs planned over the next 12–18 months.
  • Design-led approach: investment in good ventilation, energy efficiency and ergonomics.
  • Opportunities to lead projects end-to-end and influence equipment standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop detailed kitchen layout drawings, floor plans and equipment schedules using AutoCAD / Revit.
  • Conduct site surveys and produce as-built drawings; measure and verify utilities and services.
  • Specify kitchen equipment, hoods, exhaust, grease traps, gas lines and drainage in coordination with M&E engineers.
  • Liaise with architects, contractors, vendors and regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals (NEA, SCDF where applicable).
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender documents and compare vendor quotations for equipment and fit-out work.
  • Manage fit-out timelines, supervise installation works and perform commissioning and test-runs of equipment.
  • Ensure designs support operational flow, food-safety best practices and energy efficiency.
  • Produce handover documentation and basic operating manuals for chefs and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate training with kitchen managers on new equipment use, cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in commercial kitchen planning, F&B fit-outs or related design roles.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Revit, SketchUp or similar tools is a plus.
  • Practical understanding of commercial kitchen equipment, ventilation (hood/ducting), grease management and gas installations.
  • Familiarity with Singapore regulatory requirements for food establishments (NEA) and basic fire-safety considerations (SCDF) during fit-outs.
  • Strong project coordination skills, able to manage contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to carry out site visits and measurements; valid Singapore driving ability for frequent site rounds is preferred.
  • Good communication skills in English; clear report writing and ability to present layouts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Flexible to work occasional early mornings or weekends for site supervision during fit-outs.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with performance bonus.
  • CPF contributions and medical insurance coverage.
  • Paid annual leave and sick leave in line with Singapore employment law.
  • Staff meals and staff dining privileges across outlets.
  • Transport allowance or petrol reimbursement for frequent site visits.
  • Training and professional development related to kitchen design and F&B operations.

Work schedule

Typical week: 5.5 days per week, with occasional weekend site visits and evening vendor meetings during fit-out periods.

  • Standard office hours (Mon–Fri 09:00–18:00).
  • Site visits typically between 07:30–17:00 when supervising installations.
  • Occasional evening meetings with contractors or vendors (up to 20:00).
