About the role
Don Signature Crab is a busy seafood-focused restaurant in the Clarke Quay / Boat Quay precinct, popular with both locals and tourists for our signature crab dishes and lively riverside atmosphere. We are looking for a professional Hostess / Receptionist to join our front-of-house team and help deliver warm, efficient service at the door and reception.
The role centres on greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, seating guests promptly and coordinating with servers and the kitchen to maintain table turnover and guest satisfaction. You'll work closely with the restaurant manager to handle phone enquiries, basic cash or POS transactions at the host stand, and light administrative tasks.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced hospitality environment, wants stable full-time hours in a well-known F&B concept, and is looking to progress into supervisory or reservations roles with on-the-job training and exposure to high-volume service patterns.

Key responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and manage the reception area during service hours
- Handle reservations via phone, online booking platform and walk-ins; maintain accurate waitlist and booking records
- Seat guests according to floor plan and reservation priorities, balancing server workload and reservations
- Answer inbound calls, provide menu and opening hours information, and manage basic enquiries professionally
- Operate POS for pre-payments or deposits where required and handle any cash transactions at the host stand
- Coordinate with service staff and kitchen during busy periods to expedite seating and minimise wait times
- Maintain a tidy and presentable host station, manage menus, promotional materials and reservation book
- Assist with light administrative tasks such as daily covers reporting and guest feedback logging
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a front-of-house or hospitality reception role (restaurant, bar, hotel or busy cafe)
- Clear spoken English; ability to communicate courteously with diverse guest profiles
- Comfortable using booking systems and basic POS terminals; quick to learn new software
- Professional appearance, polite demeanour and strong guest-service attitude
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis
- Able to stand for extended periods and handle a fast-paced service environment
- Right to work in Singapore (Singapore citizen, PR or valid work pass)

Work schedule
Typical week: 5.5 days per week, including weekends and public holidays on rotation.
- Lunch shift: 10:00 – 16:00
- Dinner shift: 16:00 – 23:00 (may finish later on busy nights)
- Split shifts or extended hours during public holidays and peak periods
